Risk Disclosure

Last updated May 30, 2026
This is a plain-language template provided for transparency during Vega's early access. It is not a substitute for legal advice and will be reviewed by counsel before general availability. Nothing here is financial, investment, legal, or tax advice.

1. Not financial advice

Vega is an educational research and strategy-design tool. Nothing on the platform — including indicators, backtests, optimizer suggestions, robustness scores, or any generated strategy — is investment, financial, legal, or tax advice, or a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any asset. You are solely responsible for your own trading decisions.

2. Trading crypto derivatives is high-risk

Vega connects to Hyperliquid, a perpetual-futures venue. Leveraged derivatives can move against you faster than spot and can result in the total loss of your funds, including losses exceeding your initial margin. You should not trade with money you cannot afford to lose.

3. Backtests are not predictions

Every backtest, equity curve, Sharpe/Sortino figure, Monte Carlo result, and walk-forward score describes historical or simulated behavior. Past and simulated performance does not predict future results. Real fills, slippage, funding, fees, and market regime shifts will differ — often materially — from any simulation.

4. Automated execution carries added risk

If you enable live auto-trading, Vega will place real orders on your behalf when your launched strategy's allocation changes. You accept that:

  • Software, data feeds, and exchanges can fail, lag, or behave unexpectedly.
  • Vega's safety controls — position-size caps, error-streak cutoff, total-deployment limit, daily-drawdown halt, and kill switch — reduce but do not eliminate risk. They can fail or be insufficient in fast markets.
  • You are responsible for monitoring your account and using the kill switch.
  • Live trading is off by default; you must explicitly enable it.

5. Non-custodial — you control your funds

Vega never takes custody of your funds. Your assets remain in your own wallet/account. When you authorize trading, you grant a Hyperliquid agent wallet permission to place and cancel orders only — it cannot withdraw your funds. You can revoke that authorization at any time.

6. Jurisdiction and eligibility

Access to derivatives trading depends on where you live. Hyperliquid and applicable law restrict certain persons — including US persons — from trading certain perpetual markets. You are responsible for ensuring that your use of Vega and any connected venue is lawful in your jurisdiction. By trading, you represent that you are eligible to do so where you reside.

7. No guarantee of availability or accuracy

Market data, indicator calculations, and execution may be delayed, interrupted, or contain errors. Vega is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, to the maximum extent permitted by law.

8. Acknowledgment

By using Vega to design, launch, or auto-trade a strategy, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Risk Disclosure and that you accept full responsibility for any resulting gains or losses.
